This policy explains what information Anagrama collects, why we use it, when it may be shared, and the choices available to you.

Information we collect

The information we collect depends on how you use Anagrama.

  • Account and profile information: email address, username, profile image, account settings, and subscription status.
  • Gameplay and community activity: scores, answers, game history, ratings, achievements, friendships, party activity, and content you choose to make public.
  • Purchases: plan, billing status, transaction references, and limited billing records. We do not receive your full payment-card details.
  • Support and communications: contact details, ticket messages, feedback, email subscriptions, and attachments you send to us.
  • Developer activity: API account details, credentials, usage totals, and request information needed to operate and protect developer features.
  • Device and usage information: browser and device details, approximate location derived from an IP address, pages viewed, interactions, diagnostics, and security events.

If you play without an account, some progress and preferences may stay on your device. We may still receive limited usage, diagnostic, security, and network information when you visit the site.

How we use information

  • Provide games, accounts, multiplayer, leaderboards, subscriptions, and support.
  • Save progress, personalize settings, and keep features working across sessions.
  • Operate fair-play, safety, fraud-prevention, and account-security systems.
  • Understand performance and improve the site, games, and customer experience.
  • Send service messages and optional emails you request, such as the daily Word of the Day.
  • Meet legal obligations and enforce our terms.

Where required by law, we rely on your consent, performance of our agreement with you, our legitimate interests, or compliance with legal obligations.

Email choices

You can unsubscribe from optional email at any time by using the link in the message or changing the available preference in account settings. We may still send messages needed to respond to a support request, confirm an account action, or provide important information about the service.

When information is shared

We may share information only as reasonably needed:

  • With companies that help us operate accounts, payments, hosting, communications, support, analytics, security, and advertising, subject to appropriate restrictions.
  • With other players when you use public profiles, leaderboards, friends, parties, or multiplayer features.
  • When you ask us to share information or connect a service.
  • To comply with law, protect users, investigate abuse, or defend legal rights.
  • As part of a merger, financing, acquisition, or transfer of the service, with appropriate notice where required.

We do not sell personal information for money. Depending on your location and choices, some advertising or analytics activity may be treated as a “sale” or “sharing” under privacy law. You can manage eligible choices through Cookie Preferences or by contacting us.

Cookies and similar tools

We use cookies and similar storage to keep you signed in, remember settings, measure use, maintain security, and support advertising where enabled. You can change non-essential choices through Cookie Preferences in the footer. Browser controls may also let you block or delete stored data, although some features may stop working.

Retention and security

We keep information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described here, including providing the service, maintaining records, resolving disputes, preventing abuse, and meeting legal obligations. Retention periods vary by the type of information and the reason it is held.

We use reasonable administrative, organizational, and technical safeguards. No online service can guarantee absolute security, so please use a strong sign-in method and contact us if you believe your account has been compromised.

Your choices and privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to know about, access, correct, download, or delete personal information; object to or restrict certain uses; opt out of certain advertising-related sharing; and appeal a decision about a request. You will not be discriminated against for exercising a privacy right.

You can update profile details and delete your account through account settings. You may also submit a request through Support or email [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. Some information may be retained where permitted or required by law.

Children

Anagrama is not directed to children under 13, and children under 13 may not create an account or submit personal information. If you believe a child has provided personal information without appropriate permission, contact us so we can review and delete it where required.

International use

Anagrama is operated from the United States. If you use the service from another country, your information may be processed in countries with different data-protection laws. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for transfers.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy as the service or law changes. We will update the date above and provide additional notice when required. Questions or privacy requests can be sent to [email protected] or through Support.
