Dictionary API

Terms of Use

By using the Anagrama Dictionary API you agree to the following terms. These are in addition to the general API Terms of Service.

Allowed

• Personal projects, hobby apps, educational tools
• Displaying definitions and word data in your application in real-time
• Building games, language tools, or learning apps that call the API per request
• Reasonable caching (e.g. caching a lookup result for up to 24 hours in-app)

Prohibited

• Bulk downloading, scraping, caching, or storing dictionary data into a local database
• Reselling, sublicensing, or redistributing word or definition data for commercial gain
• Building a competing dictionary API or dataset from API responses
• Automated bulk harvesting of any kind
• Circumventing rate limits by rotating API keys or creating multiple accounts
