Rate Limits
The API enforces three layers of rate limiting per API key: a per-minute burst limit, a rolling 24-hour daily cap, and a rolling 7-day weekly cap. Limits vary by plan.
| Limit | Free | Plus | Pro | Business |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Requests per minute | 10 | 30 | 60 | 200 |
| Rolling 24h requests | 100 | 5,000 | 10,000 | 100,000 |
| Rolling 7d requests | 500 | 25,000 | 50,000 | 500,000 |
| API keys | 2 | 5 | 10 | 25 |
| Custom wordsets | 1 | 10 | 50 | Unlimited |
| Words per set | 50 | 500 | 1,000 | 10,000 |
Every response includes rate limit headers for all three layers:
X-RateLimit-Limit, X-RateLimit-Remaining, and X-RateLimit-Reset for daily limits; X-Weekly-Limit, X-Weekly-Remaining, and X-Weekly-Reset for weekly limits; X-Burst-Limit and X-Burst-Remaining for per-minute burst limits.Exceeding any limit returns
